Meet Dr. David Moore of Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry

For over 25 years, Dr. David H. Moore has worked to promote healthy lifestyles of children and their families. His passion to improve the smiles of children started back in the 1980s while attending the North Carolina School of Dentistry. Working under his mentor, Dr. Bill Vann, he came to realize that a pediatric dentist could have a profound impact on a child’s outlook of their world. He abandoned his pursuit of general dentistry and focused primarily on pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Moore pursued a residency at The Ohio State University where he received his Master of Science degree as well as a certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Pediatric Dentistry. He then went on to the Columbus Children’s Hospital before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Moore went on to open Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry, which has grown from one office to five regional locations, including offices in Gastonia, Davidson, Cotswold, University, and most recently South Charlotte in the Waverly community.

Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry has a mission to serve the local community by providing an unrivaled standard of care within the field of pediatric dentistry. The teams at each location provide a fun, safe and nurturing place for children, infants, adolescents, and individuals with special needs. Here kids will learn about oral health so they develop healthy dental hygiene practices for life.

Family Life

Dr. Moore is married to Michelle, who has helped both at home with the children and with management of the dental practice. Dr. Moore has five kids. His oldest, Kayla, is soon to graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill, and is following in her father’s footsteps to be a pediatric dentist. Kenzie is the second in line. She attends the University of South Carolina and likes to visit the Charlotte Pediatric Dentist dressed as the Tooth Fairy to the delight of the patients. Ryan Alexa is now a freshman at the University of Arizona and Caroline will be attending the University of South Carolina in the fall, and their only son Michael is in high school.

Life in Charlotte

Dr. Moore loves calling Charlotte home and is very active in the community. When searching for a place to grow his practice he realized the potential Charlotte offered due to the number of families gravitating to the Queen City. He knew he would be able to provide a valuable service to local families, and the rest, he says, is history. When not cycling outdoors, you’ll find him cheering for the Gastonia Grizzlies and the Charlotte Panthers.
